I always find this anoying when making families. I draw an extrustion using a ref. plane as a base. Then I need another so I mirror or copy the last extrusion. However when I do that the new object uses the an absolute position in space and not the original plane as iit base. So of course this hoses the parametrics. From what I can see the only option is to redraw the new extrusion from scratch using the required base plane.

Yes, I agree. Copying or mirroring an extrusion should maintain it's associativity with any reference planes. I find myself doing alot of dragging and locking with every piece of modeling in the Family Editor.

My theme of the day (I just added this note to another topic) - add this item to the wishlist ng to consolidate the users' desires in one location for Revit development to see.

Cheers!
