I just noticed that there's a new build available. Is there a place to find out from Autodesk what the latest build changes?

To the Autodesk Staff:

Because of the small releases that Revit offers, it would be nice to have a text file on the download page which gives us a listing of the version histories with bug fixes, changes, etc, so we can inform ourselves on whether it's worth downloading, or to wait for the next small release.

Anyone know if this fixes the prehighlighting when using the align tool?

It was posted on a diff. thread that this just fixed the installation bug with a certain IE release.

What Pre-highlighting bug? I don't see pre-highlighting problem when using alignment tool... (but again, I am using the old 6.0 (20040114_2100)
version... (We will wait till 6.1 iron out all the MAJOR bugs and AUS Window bug, then we will upgrade till our next project cycle)..

I wouldn't say there are any MAJOR bugs in 6.1.

Prehighting ( the entire object highlights is mildly annoying, but nothing too serious. You can still see the edge/line you selected. )

The AUS window / door family "bug" is yet to be confirmed and its simply to just load in the 5.1 or 6.0 AUS families anyway.

If you're not using 6.1, you're missing a lot of good stuff.

I'll install it and see if I can detect any changes. It's almost always a no brainer to use the latest build of Revit!

The build that corrected that was 20040306_0300, not the one now posted.

This kind of output is possible if you printer settings are much finer (let say 1200 dpi) then revit resolution settings (75 dpi for example). Check them and make them in the same magnitude.

Just installed this new build ... and the highlighting is fixed. 8)

But .... I came across what may be another problem.

I was working on a callout view in the old build and when I opened it in the new build, all the dimensions were not visible. They're there, but hidden. They are checked in Vis Graphics as visible.

When I checked properties for the dimensions, the visibility there is turned off. Thats not something that I did. I have to manually select all the dimensions and turn their visibility in Element Properties back on.

Anyone else seeing this sort of thing ?

PS Note to Revit Developers: A " Whats New in this Build" text file would be a great help...

Yes, this happened to me in one file, but I just figured one of my other users did it, and paid it no mind. But know I'd better keep an eye out

I have confirmed that dimensions created in earlier versions of 6.1 are invisible when retrieved in 6.1 build 20040322_2136. Dimensions created in 6.0 and 5.1 appear to be OK. The invisible dimensions can be restored by box-selecting the entire view, filtering out everything except dimensions, and in Properties setting the Visible property.

Until we know more, I recommend that you not install 6.1 build 20040322_2136 if you already did much work in an earlier build of 6.1.

<Gulp> too late.

Should I reinstall the earlier build?

I'm happy to make the dimensions reappear, if thats the only problem. And I'm happy to have the highlighting fixed in build 2136.

The only problem is that the dimensions created in earlier 6.1 builds are are invisible. If you don't mind manually making them visible again then there's no need to go back to the earlier build.

Revit told me that another build went out Wednesday night (3/24/04). This sounds like it's subsequent a 0322 build, no?

It's been worth it for me to install the build because my old laptop's video is happier with the new build.

Bringing back the dimensions was a 5 minute task, and I'll save that today in productivity.
