View Full Version : Arc Length in Property Line Tag

I'm accustomed to showing arc length on my site plans. The property line tags give the length as aligned end to end. Looking for a way to change the tag and am curious how others are documenting boundry arcs.

There is a tag to show this in the library, Annotations > Civil. Have you seen it?

I have the tag but what I would like it to show arc length rather than the aligned distance. I'm showing it here with the arc length dimension above to show the difference.

Yep - that's how I do it: Just throw a dimension on it.

Yep... wot ^ ^ ^ Aaron said ^ ^ ^

So my next question is, if it is standard to show the arc length rather than the aligned distance why does the tag not comply with the standard?

I sent in a request to support a few days ago for just this item. It's standard to show the arc length on a site plan, the chord distance and other curve data should be in a "curve table".

Thanks for the confirmation Michael, I will follow up and do the same.

Anything more on this? This is a potentially critical liability error.
Adsk?
Anyone?

When I submitted a support request on this, they replied "why would you ever want to do that" and then asked me for proof that anyone else does that... (I sent them just about all the subdivision plats we had at the time!) then they said it would be fixed "in a future release" lol... I hear that one a lot from them. Sometimes me thinks the developers really don't care...

Not to reactivate an old post, but it has been almost 6 years to the day and this issue has still not been resolved in Revit. You are still limited to the dimension from end point to end point on a property line arc rather than the actual arc length. I HATE faking stuff in Revit! Oh well, add this one to the long list I suppose. Anything dealing with the site is terrible in Revit anyway.
