I have found that using voids as openings in a door or window family does not work well with using wall sweeps. The sweep does not recognize the void as an opening and will cover the window or door opening completly.
Also you cannot use an opening and a void in the same host, so this idea is not going to work.

You can, but the opening and the void cannot come in contact. How is this possible, revit warns when i click on opening with the void in place that they are not both possible within a family?

That's because I was WRONG! It's either openings or voids in the host...

You're hosed if you're using wall sweeps in the wall style; but if you're placing the sweeps manually you can add the sweep above the door/window, then stretch it back to one side of the door, add the next, stretch, move down, etc.

Sounds tedious, don't it?

Nah just kidding, i just split the face of the wall and applied different materials, looks like hell but no time for anything manual....thanks for trying!

Have a good new year

if you nest a sill with a window, in the family file the cill void cuts the wall. But once you place it in a project file it does not. varum
