A co-worker in my office cannot open a 2004 Civil Design Drawing. There were no problems with the drawing when he closed it at the end of business yesterday. However, when he tried to open it this morning it had been corrupted somehow. When the file is opened, ABS attempts to open it, but locks up every time at 56%. All of the backups are corrupted too. Is there a way to audit this file without opening it so he can save all of the work he did yesterday?

Have you tried to Recover the drawing? File menu: Drawing utilities: Recover.

Yes I have. It was the first thing I tried.

Hi

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=119) forum to this one, seeing as you state above the use of ABS.

Thanks, Mike

That's really the only way to try to run an audit before opening a drawing. Unless you have an Autosave file from yesterday that isn't corrupted, you may have lost a days work. Sorry.

Hi

You might try working through the links found in this post ( RE: Open a corrupt drawing file ).

Have a good one, Mike

Have you looked to see what your most current backup file is dated? You might have a backup file that is current or at least not corrupted.
