I am trying to create an area plan for a T.I. project. The shell building is a Revit project as well, and I have it linked in. I learned that walls in linked models are NOT room binding, so I just drew room separation lines to act as the exterior walls. When I created the Rentable Area Plan, I clicked each wall and room separation lines (to give me the little purple area dividers) and put an Area Tag in each room. Now, when I try to add the color fill, I get the legend, and it shows each area type, or room name exactly as it shows all the areas and such, exactly as I have the legend filtered. Strange enough though, the the color fills don't show up in the plan. I can edit the color scheme, and I can see the colors that are assigned to each area, but they just don't show up on the plan. What am I doing wrong?

Adding color fills normally turn off the floors so you can see the color fill.

Since you have a linked file I doubt Revit could do this for you automatically.

I would check the linked file and see if there are floors present and turn them off if they are.

AHA! That did it!

Thanks for your help, I knew it had something to do with that link.
