Is there a way to have a non-90 or non-45 degree wall join? In other words, it there a way perhaps to manually edit a wall's end condition in plan, other than at a 90-degree or 45-degree angle?

You mean as with the "Square Off" option? Works well at coarse level of detail, but has disapointing results at a fine level of detail....

Another option would be to use an in place void family to trim the end of the wall into any shape you desire.

1. Under "Modeling > Create > Walls", pick a name for your new wall end family.

2. Create a new void extrusion form (the little yellow cube icon on the left side of the screen)

3. Sketch the shape of the of the new wall end condition and then set the parameters of the void to the same height as the wall.

4. Under "Tools > Cut Geometry" cut the void out of the wall and then finish up your family

Scott,

If I under stand your solution correctly, you are creating the entire wall from a Create-in-Place family.

It was not you intention to clean up an intersection where a number of walls joined and did not clean up correctly.

I have tried to clean up walls using the Edit Wall Joins tool and have a number of unsuccessful experiences. I have found the Wall priority settings to lack enough control on how various material layers clean up and when walls are creating multiple intersections at tight locations the cleanup situation is randomly successful.

We need better wall connection controls and cleanup tools.

I have with some success tried to use a thin plywood"wall", 5 mm thick, between walls connecting in different angles. Draw the piece of "plywood" between the walls you want to connect and trim the wall(s) towards it so that the plywood(s) "wraps" the end of one or many walls. Then clean up the connection with "edit cut profile" tool. Remember also to adjust the hight of the "plywood"

That seems extremely tedious for simple repeating graphic purposes. I like Revit, but the wall wraps are not good at all. Oh well...

I am one of those folks who wasted years in ADT land, but it occassionally did some decent things. You could assign as many layer priorities as you wished: 1 could cut through anything and you had up to infinity from there--all determined by the priority number. There was no question on how things would clean up...the user determined it. Period. However, I like the clarity of Revit's system, too; structural layers are internalized while finish layers, etc. are applied outside without much thought beyond what is finish 4 or 5, etc. But is there a lesson to be learned from ADT?

Mike, can you post an exact example of what you are trying to do ?
