can anyone help me.
i am using auodesk civil 3d and when i go to import a point file in the PENZ format and select the file from the location it dosent put the location on the source file line.
So i type it in and hit ok and get this:

"FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xfffffff4 Exception at 12272c4fh"
and it shuts down.

I have went through the tutorial on importing points and follow the instructions it says to import a file in the External project point database format so i pick it and it does put the location on the source file line and when i hit ok i get the same error message.
i think it is a problem with the program, maybe confliction with something else.
i also have autocad 2006 and 2005, land desktop 2006 and 2005, and the survey and civil components installed.
can anyone help?

What type of permissions do you have where the point file is located? READ\WRITE\EXECUTE or READ-ONLY?

I looked at the folder that the files were in and it had read only radio button on so i selected it off. But if i checked it again it is on automatically back on. The files themselves are not read only.

So i tried the tutorial again and got the same thing. Then i tried my own point file in my own drawing which before wouldn't put the location on the source file line. So i double clicked the file instead of hitting ok and a message came up saying "A sharing violation occurred while accessing.....No points were transferred from the source"

I am not on a network it is installed on a stand alone machine

Its driving me mad!
