Don't think you'll find much of an ADT2005 demo. First of all, the program comes packaged on 2 full CD's! A download would take an awful long time even with a broadband connection. Suggest you speak with your local reseller.

"Something like.." is about it. When ADT grows up it want's to be Revit.

Actually there was a 7 day beta trial on the web (and it does take a long time to download) I don't know if they still have it on there or not. It doesn't matter much anyway, though, try both and I think you will see why we all use revit. ADT is ok, but it's like a car with wings glued to the side trying to compete with an F14. Ok, a little exagerated, but IMHO Revit is MUCH better.

ADT is only like Revit in that the purpose is to model a building and derive sections and elevations and schedules from it.

After that, there is nothing in Revit or ADT that is similar. Revit is a single file; ADT is multiple files - possible a hundred or two. In Revit, you're always working with the whole building - no xrefs required. In ADT, you're always working with the pieces.

Revit, depending on the individual, takes some effort to learn (or perhaps more time than effort). ADT requires you to spill a quart of blood on your PC, sacrifice your daughters to Paul Aubin, and learn to speak a strange new language (like "AECCreateHLR")...

I shouldn't be so hard on the ADT team... ADT can do a lot more than it could pre R2004. But the workflow is certainly not as straightforward as Revit.
