Handicap curb drops won't go away

I'm using the 2D handicap curb drop which needs to be invisible in some of the views. However, the only way I can turn tem off is by turning off "site" visibility completely. Apparently it is not in any of the site sub categories. I even tried to hide it with a filled region to no avail.

How can I change it to turn on or off as needed?

You can edit the family and create a new sub-category. "Curb" for example.
Change all of the lines to "Curb (Projection)". When you load it in your project it will add a new subcategory to Site that you can turn on/off independently.

Tried editing the family but it came up blank

What do you mean "blank"? Are you using the one that comes from the factory?

Look at this one and see if it will work.
