I keep getting a message "line has inaccurate direction".
What does this mean?
I have seen no particular ramifications that would relate to this message and simply ignore it.

This issue is currently being reviewed by the Revit Development Team.

In the meantime, a workaround for the problem is to change the Orientation of the view to True North then back to Project North. The "Line has inaccurate direction" warnings in that particular view should no longer appear. You will need to do this in every view that the warnings are occurring.

If you this does not fix the problem please contact Revit Support for further assistance.

Please note that the warnings caused by imported stuff are intended to prevent problems in Revit geometry.

You'll get this sometimes, too if you have an object (line or wall, usually) that's just a little bit off orthogonal, like 0.05 degrees, or 89.92 degrees

These commonly occur when tracing over an imported dwg that itself had inaccuracies.

These messages seem pretty harmless....until you try to dimension.
There's nothing like tracing an entire floor plan only to find out much later when you add dimensions that walls are not parallel to each other and thus, can't be dimensioned because they're a few hundredths of a degree off!
If you feel the need to trace, check your work often with dimensions, either linear or angular.

Grids created by picking inaccurate lines in a linked file can also create this condition. They look clean - but are off by small degrees. You'll see it when you start placing views (sections/elevations) which you believe are perpendicular to the grid. But you'll see that the grid may not show up in those views.

Careful when picking lines coming from an external source. Don't presume they've been created deliberately.
