It prints even faster in Australia !

Thats because we're further West .... or is that East ?

Revit prints slower than Microstation Jeremy because it uses the windows system printer drivers, not optimized plot drivers like Microstation does. AutoCAD also prints slower than Microstation does. If you guys batch print to the Xerox you'll get much better/faster results.

That said, the printer settings at each PC must be checked to make sure that they are not using Final as a plot quality setting. If set to Draft you'll find the plot speed to be on par with MS or AutoCAD, slightly slower than MS no matter what though.

Sets should be submitted to Sandie for plotting, only using the 1055's for check plotting.

(sidenote, I used to work with Jeremy so I know their equipment)

My print company can only print PDF files. They use ReproDesk to print Dwgs. Is there a way to print Prn files at the printer?

PRN and PLT files are the same. You can rename the file extension of a PRN to a PLT. Then your reprographics company can use Reprodesk to porcess the PLTs.

Revit will plot to a PLT file without having to rename it.....

Also, you can use DOS commands to copy PLT files to a printer. On a network, it's something like:

c:\copy *.plt \\servername\printername

Where the * is the file name (or multiple files using the wildcards)

I want you to notice the initials at the end of the first post. My computer was taken over by another.

And the place IS falling apart, but I don't think that is Steve's fault...

BomberAIA.....the following web site has a free product called GOPLOT. It sends plt files to any printer.....quite good for free.

I think I got it off this discussion group some time ago
