fill display in reduced height stud wall

when i draw a 2400mm height stud wall in plan with yellow solid fill, the fill shows.
the cut plane is at 1300mm above floor level
when stud wall is reduced in height below 2000mm in height the fill does not show, so it looks like you are looking down on the wall - how to overcome this?
