View Full Version : Values less than 914400

So I tried entering a large value today on a large development, only to get an exclamation error of "Please enter a value less than 914400 mm." Huh, you're kidding right?
That was just by moving an element. I even tried dimensioning the element and still couldn't enter a larger value. It has to be a 2 part move.

So not only do we get errors about elements being too small, and then having them deleted on us, now we can't put in large values either.

Apparently Revit knows more about what I want from my designs than I do. :o

That works out to exactly 3000 feet.

Iknow, we tried doing a master plan ( 50km square ) ...Can you image... PITA.
Used another program.

It certainly is a PITA having to do everything more than once for everything over this measurement.
The entire job takes twice as long to draw. Could have done it quicker in AutoCAD.

You would have trouble making a large airport like Kansai in Japan. The roof was made out of a large ring about 7 km in diameter, where the top edges where trimmed to form the roof. If you would enter a value of 7 km to just create a simple circle shape, Revit will give you an error message.

I bet you used another program!!

Revit series, its the way to go - I rarely do much site stuff with Revit, just buildings and any 3D site objects I want to see - its whats its best at - Autocad is better for me to do car parks etc etc as I never really all the 3D data.

and not the least of your troubles would be the supercomputer you would have to order to get Revit working on it ;) I wouldnt fancy opening that revit model on my desktop PC!!
