temporary dimension on stacked walls

If I place a door in a stacked wall, I can't acces to temporary dimension.
Do you know the reason why ?
How can I retreive them ?

I've just noticed the same thing. It happens with any wall-hosted family: doors, windows, sink, toilet, etc. but not something hosted by a floor or level. Perhaps it doesn't know which of the walls to dimension to.
