We've noticed some problems with pdfFactory when text with a opaque background is vertical -- the white bit behind the text gets offset. This doesn't happen with other PDF writers as far as I've noticed.

Not sure, but I've got some a couple of things set up with super tiny text - these show up larger in the pdfFactory preview, but just fine in the pdf file.

What other PDF drivers are people using. I have downloaded the Cute PDF and that seems to work pretty good for a free one. Any other PDF tools out there?

I did an intensive comparison of all of the PDF writers i could find and nothing was as relyable file size and quality wise with Adobe Acrobate Pro... Which is rather annoying because its not cheap...

We have had very accurate lineweights and text using PDF995. I use the free version, but you need to be willing to close the small advertisement which pops up after each print. Otherwise, you can purchase the "non-advertisement" version for 9.95.
We were using Adobe PDF previously but had problems with missing lines and incorrect lineweights.

I included pdfFactory in my testing. When there were graphics etc involved file sizes were pretty much double in size and the PDF's were not as clear. Haven't experienced the missing lines or incorrect lineweights as yet.
In my tests i used revit, photoshop, word and outlook created documents.
Apparently MS Office 12 will incorporate its own PDF writer so that will be good...

We use PDF995 with Revit, Acad and Office. Works perfectly.

Do any of these PDF solutions (besides Acrobat and pdfFactory) create multi-sheet PDFs?

With PDF995 you can add commands to the ini file to print multiple pdf sheets.
PdfEdit includes 2 auto-name settings:
1. Fixed filename
2. Name the PDF based on the original document name (recommended). This enables applications to specify the final PDF document programmatically.
If option 2 is specified, adding "Output Folder="c:\myfolder" will cause all documents to be saved to the specified folder. The default folder is c:\pdf995\output.
Adding "Fixed Dir=c:\myfolder" to the [Parameters] section of pdf995.ini will cause the Save As dialog to always open to the same folder. Default behavior is to open to the last folder to which a PDF was saved.
A third option will allow PDF documents to be named by number. Adding "Output File=1" to the [Parameters] section of pdf995 will incrementally number PDF's starting with 1.
I use option 2 and 3 to number each pdf and put it in a folder. I will edit the pdf names later if needed.

We use PDF 995, mostly working well.
Recently there were though from time to time problems with columns and room corners left out. Earlier there was some heavy files which did not print properly either, surface line patterns printed as black fields. I tried recently a new writer , Primo PDF on those files and it worked well.
