I am currently planning how to "reconstruct" the ancient Acropolis on the Island my ancestors come from in the Aegean.
As far as I know it has never been really attempted in any form probably due to lack of info. But I think it would have been a sort of mini Athens style acropolis in the classical period built on an earlier Mycenaean/Lycian citadel. There would therefore be fluted columns with entasis and doric or possibly ionic columns or both. There would have been sculptured friezes, public sculpture and items such as votive urns, patitiria, cisterns etc.
The rocky outcrop it is built on would be OK for site tools but I think it's the fancy bits that would be the problem.
Any ideas?
OK it is pretty obvious-make the sculptures, capitals etc. in Rhino or something and import them into family files as dwg's.
Could probably nest the capitals with parametric column families made in Revit using golden mean type formulae for diameter to height ratios etc. Capitals should be scalable to same formulae in family file (but apparently not once placed in project file.) Is there a "resize" family parameter that can be applied to the imported dwg file? As far as I can see you cannot use dimension parameters to change its size.
