Newbie Question re Revit books

Hi

Can anyone recommend any good books that I can use to help me learn Revit?

I have previously used Archicad, so I have a fair knowledge of how BIM works, but need to find out where all the "bits and pieces" are hidden.

coming from an adt back ground i can say that Paul Aubin publishes good books. but as far as i can see, his book for revit 8.0 still is not shipping at amazon. it seems that it was released in september, but still no luck.

Does anyone know where to find his new book?

Paul Aubin's book is coming out sometime this spring. I learned ADT from his books. If his upcoming book on Revit is as good, I could highly recommend it in advance. I just finished Balding & Fox's "Introducing & Implementing Autodesk Revit Building" and recommend this one also. Both, are or will be available @ Amazon.com.

We just got the a vBookTM from RetrieveMedia it is not bad for people trying to learn Revit.(Not to mention training material) It is a little remedial for Advanced users though. You need to have a fast internet connection to use it though. go to the below links to try it out. I hope this helps.

Thanks Bill, It is nice to hear about people reading the book. I have talked to several that have bought it, but when asked they say they have not gotten around to actually reading it.

Just bought the Revit 8.1 vbook at www.autosupportdesk.com.

It's on-demand online video tutorials, which means that you have to be connected to the web to use it and it can't be downloaded for off site use without a web connection. This makes it a bit inflexible to use.

It's made by the CDV folks who did the great tedious tutorial books.

I like the video tutorial format because it is more effective for me than taking a class or reading tutorials.

I find the vbook extremely well organized and clearly presented.

It's $150. which sounds and is expensive compared to printed books; but for me it's been worth it.

For a newbie it would be fantastic. I've used Revit since V2 and I still learned new stuff during the first 20 basic videos.
