Soft Shadow Control in 6.0

I'm having problems with the new "Soft Shadows" section in 6.0. Any adjustments I make to the Softness, Jitter or Samples do not have any effect and are not saved the next time I pull it up.

Does anyone know of a tutorial for this?

I didn't think "soft shadows" was altered for 6.0 or 6.1, however there are no tutorials that I know of, its a case of experimenting with the settings.

In my experience, soft shadows is primarily useful for interiors, and has little effect in exterior views. In interior views, Soft Shadows produces more realistic shadow edges based on the size of the light source being calculated.

As with many of the Accurender settings, they don't "stick". Frustrating.
