I recently installed DWF writer and I can't get REVIT to print to DWF.
When I print using the DWF driver, it does not create a DWF file, nor gives me any errors. Please help

Thanks

I assume you're speaking of the writer and not the composer. Personally I have no problem writing DWF's here, however, I know of certain people having difficulties printing with the latest version. (sorry - I can't remember if the recent one is 6.3 or 6.3). IF you can, uninstall this and install an older copy. (FYI - My Viewer is version 6.0.0)

Also - another option is to try downloading the free writer from Autodesk (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=2404513&siteID=123112)again, uninstall the one that is giving you problems, and install the new download. You will want to make sure you're logged on as an Administrator first before installing.

Anyone else care to comment on their experiences?

KyleI think I have the same version - with no problems. Mind you most of my clients only have Acrobat reader so it rarely gets used...

The new DWF printer driver from Autodesk (version 3, I believe) doesn't work well with Revit at all. If you can, reinstall version 2. If you don't have it, e-mail me and I'll post it on our FTP site.

What are the advantages of using the DWF writer versus exporting a DWF file directly from Revit?

Wes you were right version 2 works well with REVIT. I uninstalled version 3 and installed version 2. It works like a charm now.

Well I believe you can only export a view to dwf and not a sheet. To get a sheet to dwf you need to print it, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks again guys.

You can export both views and sheets.
In fact you export a complete set of construction documents and save it for future use.
Can you create a multi page DWF file with the writer?

Yes you can, but you have to select the multipage option in the Revit print dialog box before you start printing...
