Have a look at the image attached and you can see some parking lines are buried and others are floating (& create their own shadow)... I have picked host and choosen the toposurface for them...

Any ideas / solutions??

Thanks, Elrond

I posed this question a while back and the response I got leads me to believe that if you want your parking lines flat on the surface your parking surface must be flat (all the same elevation).

yes, the toposurface must be flat for this to work out.
The way I have approached this is to layout parking stripes for use in the siteplan and scheduling, but actually split the toposurface where lines occur--use the split surface and sketch rectangles, then change material of hte new toposurface. A bit tedius, but the renderings will look right. (make sure you turn off visibility of parking stripes prior to rendering)

You "can" use the Revit parking stripe to do this too, but you have to place them and adjust the length and dial them in...and it depends greatly on how much your grade changes...see the image >
