We sometimes import Arc view data into Autocad drawings, particularly city parcels and sewer system components. Once in an Autocad drawing, the objects have data associated with them (like owner, address, elevation, etc.) that can be accessed through the properties dialog box. Is there a way to automatically create text labels of a specific data type and insert them into the drawing?

Check out the annotation tools under the map menu. You will be able to create annotation templates. Basically these templates will be blocks with attributes. You can put any kind of line work you want or need. For the annotation, you will have access to any object data table that is in your drawing. After you make your template you just insert it using the annotation tools and select the objects you want labeled. Not really automatic, but very easy. Plus if you want to use these labels in future drawing all you need to do is use the Design Center to copy the blocks to your new drawing.
