I need to explore what ADT users are using for BOM - Bill of Material - take offs.
Anyone using an add-on package?
Anyone using ADT out of the box? If so, can you tell me how you are using it?
Any help would be welcomed,
CADMama

I can't recall the name of the add-on (as I haven't used it) but I heard about a package from our vendor for doing bom's. It was set up for residential, wood construction. It will even give you a framing plan, cut lengths and all kinds of other good stuff. I'll see if I can find out the name.

Hi!
I have customized ADT 2006 OOTB utilizing property sets with walls and structural members.
For the walls, I included a Area Left and Right Net property set (see property sets>automatic>Wall Objects). The client only needed some general material take offs and this worked fine as they were taking their model into Navisworks. The only problem is that you can only use the Area Left and Right for the outermost material of the wall. If you want material square footages for say the Gyp. Board, Studs, Plywood and Cement Plaster, then you would probably have to use a 3rd party tool.
You could include the cost per square foot of wall type in the wall style and perhaps make a formula that put the result into a schedule. Again, this is OOTB.
Best regards,
