Stairs with Glass panels

Hi Guys n Gals

I am currently drawing a stairs with glass panels, however, the system stairs with glass panels only generates the panels at 1000mm wide.

I have started to look into creating my own panel making the width parametric as an instance so I can basically change each panels width to suit the stairs.

Has anyone attempted this before or give me any advise on this one.

I am asking this before I start modeling it myself.

Check out the stair sample file available on the Autodesk web site. I believe there is a sample glass railing that works on stairs.

I had to make one of these as well, and i did make one with a width parameter, so you could alter the length of the glass panel in the family parameter dialogue.

I *think* my next step is to make it simply constrained to the CL of the ref planes for the balusters on each side of it. Then, when you draw the stairs, you can turn off all balusters, except at *end of segments* and simply draw the railing in short segments of lines, ending where you want the balusters...

I think that will work, i just havnt had time to try it yet...
