Grid Bubble with stretch and move working perfectly. Now I'm trying to add a rotation parameter. This is affecting the stretches and moves. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

AI - Grid Bubble is the working version.
AI - Grid Bubbletest is the problem.

Try this and see if it is what you wanted.

Thanks Thomas!

I just added a basepoint parameter and everything works great!

Thanks again,
Brad

Replacing the stretch and rotate parameter with a Polar Stretch will ensure that everything works as it should AND it reduces the amount of parameters and actions required.

I've tried it both ways and I've found this to simply be a cleaner way of doing it. My suggestion, anyway.

I'm surprised you didn't already have it. I DID post it in the Sharing thread. ;) Or rather, I THOUGHT I had posted it. I went over the entire Sharing thread and couldn't find it. Oh Well. Maybe I'll post it there too. :)

It's supposed to be a plan note symbol AS WELL AS a grid line. Did ya see all the vis states?

(plan note; grid marker) I may also add another vis state to leave it leaderless, for either spline leaders, or for when one is not required.

good ideas. i might (read: will definitely) steal those from you. ;)

Hey Chris,

I never got around to performing the modifications you discussed here on my version of the block. Wanna share yours? ;)

I think I just wet myself. That block is unbelievable! The spline leaders were something I had never considered before. You freaking rock.

Just a quick idea that comes to the top of my mind ....

Have you tried to use a Polar Stretch for the main point / arrow? just wondering how easy it would be to get the arrow or point to rotate AROUND the bubble as opposed to being static on the left or right side.

Not that it matters, really. The spline can pretty well cover any angle required, and the flip covers the opposite side. But it's just something that popped up for me.

Hey!

Are you holding out on me? How many more of these sweet, sweet cans are you holding in your arsenal? Don't be holding out on me, guy! Bring em out man! ;)

(thanks by the way. I think this guy's going in my permanent library.)

Rico, yes i did, and i personally didn't like the behavior. for the bendy leader, i'm actually thinking of making that intermediate node stretch a linear parameter to keep it in line of the quadrants.

FWIW, i did the same thing for our room tags, added the bendy leader with choice of nothing, dot or arrow, and flipped about room number box.

fair enough. just figured I'd ask, is all. I think your idea of making the first half a linear is a good idea. the room tag sounds like a good idea, too. have you posted that one yet?
