Can anybody explain the difference between these to for me or give a real world example of when I would use a Key Schedule. seems like I will almost always be using a schedule of building components?

A Schedule key is really a mis-named database look-up table.

You can define a Schedule Key for instance that pre-fills in the finishes of a room via a room style.

Yeah, like Tom said, schedule Keys make filling out repetitive data easier. For instance we do schools, so I define a Schedule key for "Classroom" that lists the floor, wall, and ceiling finishes for a typical classroom. Then in the Room finish schedule, I simply add the Key as one of the catagories, and a quick change of this drop down list will fill in all the "classrooms" with the same finishes.

Again thank you so much. This whole idea is much clearer now. I'm off to set up some schedules...
