OK, I know this is in the wrong forum and I'll erase it when I'm done, but please help!!
A consultant has inserted a Word file into one of our drawings and made it unselectable. I haven't inserted anything from Word in so long (I insert Excel stuff using Spanner) so I don't remember how to fix it. The architect is on the East Coast (so he's not at work) and I need to finish this before I go home.
Please help!!!

If it is an OLE object, try this thread. http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=13638If it's inserted as an image make sure imageframe is set to 1.

This is a shot in the dark but have you tried to audit the drawing? Are you sure it's an OLE object and not an image?

Make sure all your layers are "on" and not locked.

Hi!
Forgive me if I am repeating anything you have already tried, but did you type in OLEFRAME? It should be set to 2. If it is set to 0, you will not be able to select it.
I hope this fixes your problem.

Thank you! OLEFRAME is an unknown command...is it new for 2006? I'm running 2004.

I audited. All layers are on, none are locked.

Is it in paperspace?

Try Ole2frame instead. Yes, I am using Autocad 2006, but let me try it in 2000i...Yep, I guess it is new.
However, you can try this method for getting rid of it. It is from the Autodesk website.
Here is the link:

The white paper id from the support site is: TS64541

Thank you. OLE2frame didn't work either. :(
I tried the suggestion from Autodesk earlier and that didn't work either. I think my computer's possessed...:o

Wblocking/copy pasting everything into a new drawing is a good solution. You might also try back-saving it to an earlier version (Autocad 2000) and see if that strips it off. I have used this method in the past for some particularly annoying thing I could not seem to get rid of any other way.
Best of luck!

Hi
You might like to work through the information found in the following post ( inside the AutoCAD FAQ (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=189) forum )...
Unable to select OLE (eg Excel) Objects within drawing file
Have a good one, Mike
