I have a vew set for site plan, offsets for cut plane way up, to get above roof, but when i set to hidden line or shading with edges, a wireframe view is shown.. can't find a good reason.

Anyone else seen this?

I know i've seen some posts with similar problems, haven't found them in the search yet... anyone have some ideas here?
In the attached images above, the shaded view is correct, but the shaded with edges, and hidden line view look just like the wireframe view, except the lines appear to be casting shadows in the hidden with edges view.

Was this issue ever resolved? I seem to be having a similar problem 3 years later.

Try setting the Top and View Depth to a definite limit rather than "Unlimited". It seems to really affect how a view responds if "Unlimited" is selected.

That worked! Thanks.

I wonder if there is a logical reason for this?

My solution was the same... seams unlimited as a view depth setting brings in difficulties. I'm sure there's a logical programming reason for the error, but it remains a BUG as far as user experience goes.

I ran across the same problem in 3D view and it scrambles the materials when rendering. Just posting this in case anyone else has the issue. When this happens don't use a regular 3D view, use a camera and it will go away. Sucks when you don't want a skewed perspective view, but you can place the camera thousands of feet away to get a more orthogonal look.
