View Full Version : Linking ADT to 3ds Max

I am having a problem linking the Arch. Desktop files to 3ds Max. I find myself linking them to the Viz and saving them as a Viz file and then opening them again in Max. This prevents me from changing any of the architecture once I have made that link. I love the Max program when it comes to materials and maps, and the lighting etc. and I would like to make this link. When I try to link the files I get an error message that the file may be corrupted or may not be the correct type of file and will not link. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Tell me what to do. I can't seem to find the answer in any of the logical places.

What version of ADT & MAX are you using? If you are using a version of ADT that is newer than MAX, you won't be able to do that. Also, you could try linking to VIZ & then xref the VIZ scene into MAX. Of course if your version of VIZ is newer than MAX, this won't work either.
