Hi all,
Is it just us or is the details module missing the ability to draw rebar in elevation? The box that says "section" does not pull down and allow one to select elevation.

We really need that...

Yep, for some reason they decided not to put it in. I have no idea why, because I used it all the time. I've had to resort to drawing polylines and giving them the proper fillet radius. It's an extra step that would be nice to avoid.

I'm not sure if this is already an option, but I think it would make a great wish list item for both ADT & RS. It'd be nice, since we can draw a #5 bar as a #5 bar, it create a "Rebar Fillet" command that has the CRSI standard fillet radius and standard hooks built into it. Knowing that it is somewhat of a standard, I don't think this would be to much to ask for. Lap lengths would be my next request. Just my thoughts.

That's what I loved about the "elevation" option before, it would draw the correct radiuses based on what size bar you pick. I keep telling myself I need to write a lisp to do this for me, but then I keep hoping they will put it back into the program!

Hi,
It must have been an ovesight. Its basically a remake of the Softdesk details module, which we used for years, which included the elevation feature and correct bend radiuses.

I guess this should go to a wish-list.

Would someone like to post this into the ADT wishlist forum, or should I go ahead & do that?

Make it so Steve...
We are working on a temporary solution and will post a lisp file soon.

Hi,
My colleague Gabriel Lopez has come up with a nice lisp routine to do bar bending in elevation. The elevation will show the real width of the rebar. This will helps us survive while they add it back in to the details module.

Load the application and then type "rebarelevation" (no quotes) at the command line to start the function. You will be prompted for bar size, then pick your points.

Good luck...let us know if you find this of use.

Most excellent!
That deserves a big  !
I'd vote this one of the best scripts ever. You may also want to post this on the Acad general forum because it works for plain Acad as well.
Thanks for sharing!:-D
