Hello Plot Gurus,
I am helping set up ACAD 2006 plot styles.
Is there a way to set up a plot style that produces only monochrome (no gray scale) output? I am trying to avoid color output as the standard text color is.....you guessed it - yellow.

Hi
You can set-up a Plot Style Table ( .CTB or .STB ) to output everything in Monochrome ( Black ).
Plus, most output devices have a Monochrome ( Black ) option that can be enabled - look into the output device(s) Options / Properties.
Have a good one, Mike

Thanks--
All our old files and templates were setup for named plot styles called monochrome.stb. (which seemded to 'do' b and w ONLY if all your entites are set to plot style 1)
Yesterday, we discovered that monochrome.ctb does the same thing, only everything is not plot style dependent--it just sets everything to b and w--which works better!
QUESTION
Is there a routine or method to update legacy files and templates from .stb to .ctb?
I don't think you can change that after the fact.
Thanks--

I don't think you can change that after the fact. Are you trying to incorporate .ctb's and .stb's from an earlier version of ACAD? If so, are you having problems with that? I have not since the file types were first introduced.

Good AUGI'rs,
That certainly clarifies things. This thread was on behalf of some colleagues (non-AUGI members) and CAD users at my previous employer. They went with .CTB as it seemed to work when the .STB didn't.
Coming back to ACAD w/R.2000, I went bananas over the new plotting concept known as .STB named plot styles, setting up plot styles and templates which worked well.
In this case, my colleagues at my old job were setting up 2006 and getting very little assistance from the so-called IT dept there. That's partly why I am here.
Further investigation revealed .CTB's would still be the better choice because:
- Less complex to manage
- Colleagues understood the .CTB concept
- It works for them!
Thanks muchly,
Clint

Maybe some other interesting Autodesk links.
STB > CTB (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2879162&linkID=518981)
