I am having some trouble modeling the roof eaves on the gable end of a sloped roof. The roof structure for the building is 10" framing with 3/4" plywood sheathing. Typically roof eaves are scabbed onto the gable end wall, and are usually framed with much smaller material. In my case the eave needs to over hang the end wall by 6", and is going to be framed out of 6" light Gauge framing.

What would be the best way to model this? Right now I am stopping the main roof (10" thick) at the gable end with no over hang. I then created a separate 6" thick roof for the eave. I then used the join roofs command.

i'd either do that, or make a facia profile that is really wide ;-)

I thought of the facia idea, but when I cut wall and building sections I want the model to accurate.

The two roofs will make it appear about as correct as you will be able to get it shown in your sections. You will need some drafting lines to show the scab. Or, you are probably looking at modeling all the framing with extrusions.

I am not planning on modeling the framing. I will just use drafting lines to fill in the blanks.
