I see where I can “Mark All read” BUT the best part of Newsgroups is the ability to Tag (red) the thread to keep an eye on it.

is there access for outlook?

Nope, it won't work the same way newsgroups do, but you can watch a topic. Clicking "watch this topic" will make the board email you anytime there is a response to that topic.
