Stair display problem

In the attached image, why are my handrails not hiding the lines below? This is a plan view, set to hidden line, set to 'fine' display.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem and did not care before, but now I want it to show correctly.
Did you find some thread elsewhere that deals with this topic so far?

They have allways been symbol lines, not 3d objects thats why.

I don't think handrails have ever hidden. It has always been a PITA trying to make them look right.
