I would like to thank the developers for making the latest release the most stable to date. I have not had a single fatal crash in Revit since I started using the latest build of 6.1 and I am working on a very detailed 3-storey residential project with a lot of topo, site, structure, constraints, worksets, etc. Good work!

I am sorry to say that I am getting a few, especially when I have a autocad drawing linked. It could be a win xp thing as well as sometime it says "mini dump" error etc.

This build loads twice as fast as the previous - anyone else notice that?

Yes, I've noticed that too. My understanding from Revit support is that faster loading was achieved (in part) by an increase in file size.

Actually, it's the other way around. The file size increase was a result of the performance enhancement (sounds like an add for Viagra or something). But the numbers are favorable. The file size increase is like 8% and the performance increase is closer to 30% if I remember correctly. And the performance increase is not just limited to file opening.

Somebody, please correct me if I am wrong on my numbers here. Going from memory of my days at AU...over 4 months ago.

has anyone noticed that the backups on non worksets projects are 2x the main file size? I think they must not be compressing those to make saves quicker.

Yes, I saw that and wondered what was going on.
Makes sense I guess.

I think the file increase has been going on since Revit 5.1

I was disconcerted at first & would prefer a smaller file save

The one I am referring to was introduced in 6.0
