Whenever I use the detail lines "circle" command, I cannot "esc" out of it after I'm finished using it, unless I pick a different command (any command). Not a biggie but a nuisance.

Hi!
Did You try to press ESC several times, one after another?
I just tried, first press removes temporary dimension from last circle and second cancels command.

What Revit version/release and what build are you working with? This may have been a anomile in a prior release or build of Revit. But my ESC worked just fine and I am currently working with Revit Building 8.1 Build Jan 06 just recently released up on the Autodesk Revit website

Yeah, I've noticed the Esc doesn't always work. On the occasions when that happens, I mouse-click on Modify and get-r-done that way. I've found it not too productive to obsess about bugs; usually if I do something another way, it works.

I do observed this too not just the drafting line command some other modelling tools too. Well we can still use the mouse to pick the modify button though....

Yes, this is no anomaly - I've had this problem as well. You can hit the esc key ten times in a row to no avail. The only way out of this little death loop is to right click and select cancel. It is an annoying little bug.

Yup, sure is a problem. I find that just clicking once on the screen (no matter what command you are using) then hitting escape again sems to work, although it is annoying.

I just tried the circle tool, could Escape out no problem.

But I have found quite often with components that the Esc key doesn't seem to work. The selected component just sits there hovering under the mouse pointer (both model and detail components) and I have to hit the Modify button to get out of it.

It also seems to happen at random times, it doesn't do it all the time.

Big question: have any of you filed this potential bug with support????

It is such a random bug that it is difficult to make it repeat on demand. I have had reporting it on the back of my to-do list for some time. By hey Scott, why don't you step up to the plate and report it?
