Roof Display Pattern problem

So i have two roofs, exactly the same but they display and print completely differently in elevation. One shows a solid grey fill, the other the required vertical pattern. They are both about the same distance from the section line...

I have changed and re-changed the material properties, painted and repainted by category and still no luck. When i change the colour of the material surface pattern they both change but the solid fill still doesnt turn to the pattern.

Any ideas?

Tis a bit odd... are you sure there isn't a filled region hiding in there that someone has taken a shortcut with?

Are they correct in 3D?

no filled region and looks fine in 3D... its in revit 8, not 8.1 - maybe a hangover from revit 8?

If it was a plan i could say it was excessive plan regions effecting the view, but it obviously isn't a plan...

I'd suggest upgrading it to 8.1 and see if the issue still exists....

Alternatively duplicate the elevation and see if it occurs on an identical view. It may be that view has somehow become corrupt.
