Hi,

I'm trying to export a Revit 8.1 drawing which has an autocad floor plan xrefed attached to the REvit file. I need to export the final Revit floor plan back into autocad upon completion. After I export the Revit file into Autocad, everything looks fine in Autocad except the original xrefed autocad that was linked to the Revit file does not show itself in the exported autocad drawing.

Any ideas on this one. Is there a setting inside revit which prompts Revit to make sure that the exported revit file also includes any attached autocad xrefs?

I've done a littel research on this and think I've figured it out, it has to do with absolute and relative path types. When I set the path type of the linked autocad xref to "absolute" and then export it, it appears to work. I go into the export revit drawing in autocad and the originally linked autocad now shows up, it didn't seem to work with relative path.

Does anyone know the main differences and when these two different path types should be used? It doesn't show up in the Revit help file apparently.
