Can we make walls from an imported dwg? Instead of tracing all of them, can we just pick them all and assign a generic wall type to start?

Sort of.
You can use pick to draw walls, just be sure your wall justification is set to interior or exterior face so it aligns properly.

If you trace over the drawing, you'll find your mouse will snap to the midpoint between two parallel lines automatically.

You could also use the linework to create an in place family should the wall vary in thickness considerably.

Just be ware if the Autocad file had the lines trimmed for doors etc then when picking it will only go to that edge. Be very careful too to make sure that the lines are straight (ie. 90 deg not 90.00125deg) if not it can jack you up in Revit.
