Goal:
To establish as made plans of a building, which was built in 3 phases.
I have drawn the diffrent construction periods in 3 diffrent phases, so as to document the project.
The planned renovation will be in a additional phase.

Room Tags:
I inserted the Room Tags in the phase "new construction". Now when I try to show a previous phase, the message with "copy room tags or not" appears.

By not copying, the Room tags are somehow lost!!
By copying, new numbers replace the original numbers!!

Is there a way, to have the initial room tag number shown?
Will the use of "worksets" help?

Additional problem:
To establish the actual plans, I used many dimensions which are not really relevant for the renovation. In the same time I looked most of the dimensions, in the hope, that in the renovation phase, walls will not move around.

Since all the dimesions will distract the consultants, I duplicated the floor plan.
Duplicate with detailing:
In this case will have to delete many dimensions and additional information, which will be not needed for the renovation phase
Duplicate:
using this option means that I will have to add again information as the room tags etc.

Is there no way to control which details should be duplicated.

Any other advice of how to handle such a project?

Thanks

Gerhard

By not copying, the Room tags are somehow lost!!
By copying, new numbers replace the original numbers!!

Try this.

When duplicating the view, duplicate without detailing. Say no to "copy room tags or not".

Set the duplicated view to the new phase in view properties. Go back to the parent view (the one copied) and select & filter out the room numbers you want to see in the new view. Cut & paste them from one view to the next.

Do the same with the dimensions & other annotations you want to bring forward.

I still wonder abot the behavier of the room tags!

By showing the plan in the diffrent phases, I do not copy the plan, do I??

If this is correct, then the room tags should show the correct number, not copy the tag and in the same time increasing the number by 1!

Still wondering how I can show the diffrent phases without having to renumber the rooms.

This also in respect to the schedule of the rooms.
After every switch between the phases, the room schedule has to be rearanged by hand.

Any other advice?

Thanks

I didn't try this but here is an idea:

Set your phase to the 1st phase. Insert the room tags for that phase.
Set your phase to the 2nd phase. Insert the room tags for 2nd phase.
Set your phase to the 3rd phase. Insert the room tags for 3rd phase.

Then set for the new remodel and insert the room tags.

Does it work?
