Has anyone made a tag that will display the top of footing elevation? I see that the footings have some type of built in parameter for Elevation at Bottom. What about Elevation at Top? Can I reach this parameter to display in a tag? Maybe (Elevation at Bottom + Footing Thickness)???

thanks,

Hi,
Go to the drafting tab and select Spot Dimension. That will tag the top of footing, and other objects as well.. Once tagged you can then change the footing loctation by simply editing the tag value. A very nice feature.
Many of us need to tag the bottom of footing elevation which is why we pushed for them to include the bottom of footing parameter in the footing family (which they did).

Have a great day...

Tom's got it right, spot elevations seem to be working pretty well so far. They could use a little flexibility; specifically it'd be nice if you could use the move command with them and if you could create different representations graphically (the boxes in the image are drawn in). I would also like to be able to move the dot a little off the line (onto the surface for a little more clarity).

Say... that is a nice feature. I never thought of using the spot elevation in plan view. Nice that it lets me drive the geometry through the spot elevation. I will dig a little more into this. How are you reaching to the bottom of the footing? There are times when we need to do this also.

thanks,

Did you ever find an answer to this? I have been trying to make a multi view tag do this for some time now and I still can't find where the "elevation at bottom" paramets is coming from.
