Visibility of pads

Hi I am currently drawing a split level house! I have placed my various pads at the appropriate levels and changed my pad thickness to the thickness of my floor slab! However I am having the problem of seeing my pads in my wall in elevation and in 3d! (As the edge of the pad and the wall sit in the same plane!) How do you go about switching off just your pad visibility without switching off the Toposurface visibility?

I just make the pads 1/4" thick so they aren't noticeable under the basement floor on a building section.

go to view, visibility graphics, scroll down until you see site, expand it, then un-check pads.
