Force a early return of a borrowed license?

Has anyone ever tried to force FlexLM to return a license early? I'm 'hearing' it can be done, but I've not talked to anyone who's actually tried it.

I was wondering anyone has any familiarity with it and might now how it works. I'd like to have the knowledge in the future.

I have a Acad 2005 user that borrowed a lic, then his notbook hard drive crashed.

There must be a way to force a return from the server.
