View Full Version : Numbering in Schedules

Created two new schedules - rooms and doors. The door schedule appears to have no provision for a "Number" field and the "To room"/"From Room" fields list only the room numbers, not their titles.

This is using Revit 6.0

Any suggestions?

Also, having deleted several doors and added others, my numbering is no longer sequential - any way to globally renumber all doors.

Final point - I'd LOVE the ability to have doors automatically number themselves per the room into which they open, adding an "a", "b", "c", etc. for multiple doors - any way to do this or is it still on the wishlist?

The "mark" is the door number. In the schedule you can change the title of this field to "door number". If you want the "from" and "to" room names in the door schedule they are separate fields you have to include. Of course you need to have named the rooms in the first place for this to have any effect. Also, curatain wall doors are not "room aware" as I recall so this feature doe not work for them.

As for global renumbering, it does not exist (yet). I usally go into my door schedule and edit the numbers there.

As for doors taking on the room number with a suffix, I heard they are working on it. Maybe release 7.

Thanks - that solved the number issue - the room names do not appear as choices for the door schedule.

Could have sworn someone once showed me a tool to globally renumber doors/rooms. I guess changing them in the schedule is easy enough - luckily this is a small project.

I think the room names are a 6.1 feature

Thanks CZ

Unfortunately I'm stuck in 6.0 (long story).

are you saying that you can globally renumber rooms in 6.1? If so, how?

Z is referring to the room name being available for the from/to room parameter of a door.

oh, darn. Well, that's cool too. Thought I was going to learn another new trick from this forum (new trick # 1,746 learned here I believe  )

It would be nice if we could use the to / from Room option in all schedules, such as window schedules and furniture schedules.
