Future phase

I'm working on an office/warehouse building and I need to show the "future" location of bathrooms that will be built out as part of the future TI work. I thought I would be able to define a phase "future" and add a graphic override for the "future" phase and give it a 50% greytone with a hidden linetype. I don't seem to be able to add a new graphic override for the "future" phase.

Am I missing something? Of is there a better way of handling this type of situation. I would prefer to use real walls rather than linework to show the bathroom locations as I will probably end up doing the TI work as well as the shell.

Any suggestions?

Phases are "linear", you can show what is "now" and in the "past". You'll need to create your own phase filter to alter how your phases display. Set it up so your current phase (future work) is as you wish and the previous phase(s) are not overidden (they'll look "normal"). Rushed out, hope this helps...

Tom: I have suggested this in the past too. I would like to have the option to show all my future works on my current phase.
This way I could have all 3 (past, present & future) on the 1 drawing. Since I use Revit for proposal drawings, this would come in very handy. Clients like to see drawings drawn in this manner.

Thanks guys for the responses. At least now I know I'm not crazy.

On the way home I thought about tricking Revit by switching my phase settings around like Steve suggests.

I hope that the Revit team would add the ability to have a future phase as this is basic to the type of work that we do.

Another phasing bit I feel would be useful is the ability to 'keep new' so in multi-phase projects you can visual distinguish what is original existing and what is existing as new in the previous phase. Currently I have found no way to view phase 3 and display elements that where new in phase 2 any differently that elements thats where truely existing, since the rules of Revit say anything created in previous phases is existing. Has anyone else run into this type of senario, and how have you handled it? Thanks.

Tom,

You can create future walls in the new construction phase, then demolish them. This will show as a temporary or future phase.
