the easiest way I found is to subscribe to the thread. When making your inital post or subsequent ones, before submitting your reply, in the "additional options" area you can select to subscribe to a thread, with instant email notification, daily or weekly.

You can also set your default subscription mode in your personal options under "Messaging & Notification" You can select whether you want to automatically subscribe to threads to which you post or not.
