Moment Symbols

When using a relatively small column, 8" depth, the moment symbol (filled triangle) at the end of the beam shows up nicely. When I change the column to a deeper section, 12" depth, the moment symbol becomes lost in the column flange. I have pulled back the ends of the beams (to move the symbol out of the flange) but this affects the beam-column relationship in sections and details.

This isn't going to be a perfect solution but look at the structural settings (under "Settings" menu). The symbolic beam cutback will adjust the location of the moment connection symbol. The catch is that it adjusts it universally throughout the project.
