Breaking info on Civil 3D 2007

A comprehensive list of features concerning Civil 3D 2007 has been posted by a friend of mine who is a licensed civil engineer in Minneapolis, Doug Benoit, P.E. [ICE].

Last week, Doug successfully completed Autodesk's Implementation Certified Expert (ICE) program for Civil 3D last week. Here's the blog he posted today with all the details.

Is 07 going to have waterlines in the pipes section?

Can you elaborate on that please? Are you looking for a Water Parts List? Or Hydraulic Calculations?

This might refer to flexible pipes? Waterlines usually do follow a set depth below the terrain and not a grades unless you are using CPPC or some other none flexible pipe.

Yes, there is a new Pipe Rule that will simply allow you to force cover only with no regard for slope. It will at least get you closer.

The program will not support the use of Water Parts List Or Hydraulic Calculations although you can use null structures and the new pipe rule as mentioned above.

There is a really cool feature in Civil 3d. You can add expressions, or calculations and formulas, to label styles.

I'm ashamed, I thought 2007 was going to focus on fixing the bugs. It looks like there are a lot of good additions as well.

I'm really anxious to get the new version. Do they have a firm release date yet?

I'd like to see the new grading features.

The demos I've seen never get past the roadway design. :banghead:

I was hoping to get a sneak preview of all the new improvements, I've heard so much about, in the grading software.

Has anyone seen one on line?
