I am ready to start a log home and would like some advice on how to make the log walls. Any help would be great.

I remember seeing something on this before... probably the best thing would be to create one or more log-shaped curtain wall mullion profiles and then make your walls as storefronts, with the mullions using the log profile.

There are several threads on log walls...you can do a search. Basically, the way I have done them is to insert log profiles as sweeps into the wall family.
So for each log course you insert the sweep and just stack them vertically so you get whatever space you want for chinking.
The bad thing about this is that if the model gets too complex, the log sweeps will slow down performance. I am doing a fairly complex log house now that has square logs, so I am just using a surface pattern to represent the chinking and the logs.

Thats for the cabin. Do you by chance know how they did the walkthough? I have only tried a few times and I liked how slow it was and how it moved around?
