X's showing up on background

I have some X's showing up on a file I am referencing into my current drawing. the size of the X depends on how closely I am zoomed in when I regen the drawing.

These X's appear to be associated with blocks and may have something to do with the blocks insertion point?

Anyone seen this problem or have any suggestions?

_.DDPType
